Lions Tail - An ingredient of PEP Spice & Spice Gold
Lions tail, also known as wild dagga, also known as leonotis leonurus is a South African bush bearing orange blossoms and is purported to have hallucinogenic effects. The flowers produced by Lions Tail are bright orange, almost red in color and attract lots of wild life as the nectar produced is super sweet. Its a favorite of birds (especially humming birds), bees and butterflies. This is an excellent addition to Spice Gold and PEP Spice in the form of an extract oil.
In Africa, it is known by the names dacha, daggha and wild dagga. The Hottentots and Bushmen smoke the buds and leaves as inebriants. This bush may be one of the inebriating plants plants assumed under the name kanna. The resinous leaves and the resin rubbed off or extracted from them are either smoked alone or mixed with tobacco. IN native California, many people now smoke the leaves and orange flowers. The rather bitter tasting smoke of the flowers grown in California have a mild psychoactive effect reminiscent of both cannabis and datura.
Medicinal uses are plentiful and include treatment of coughs, colds, chest infections, eczema, constipation, spider and scorpion bites and more. Amazing really that such a beautiful flower can have so many uses other than just looking pretty.
