Dwaf Scullcap (scutellarianana), also known as mad-dog scullcap is a component of blends with alleged psychoacive properties. The herbage formerly was used as a sedative and nerve tonic and was even prescribed for the treatment of epilepsy, neuralgia, and sleepiness. The plant contains the flavonoid scutellarin, which has sedative and antispasmodic effects.

 

This tiny perennial herb that is native to good old Sunny California. Reportedly used for centuries by the native indians in Northern America; dwarf scullcap is well-known and traditionally used among the Cherokee and other Native American tribes in North America.
